Important WhatsApp Security Alert

When you update your website but still see the old version, the culprit is usually browser cache. Your computer saves a “snapshot” of websites to load them faster, but this can cause outdated versions to appear even after changes go live

🚨 Immediate Steps (Do These First)

Warming up your list and your sending reputation is critical before sending campaigns, drip sequences, or promos. This reduces spam flags, improves open rates, and protects your domain reputation.

1. Warn Your Contacts Immediately

Send a broadcast message (or post a Status update) so people don’t fall for it.

Message you can copy:

⚠️ Important Notice

Someone is impersonating me on WhatsApp and messaging my contacts.
If you receive any unusual messages, requests for money, codes, or links — please ignore and do not respond. I will never ask for money, verification codes, or personal info on WhatsApp.
Please report and block the fake account. Thanks for letting me know if you receive anything.

👉 This alone stops most damage.

2. Ask Contacts to Report the Fake Account

Have them:

  • Open the fake chat
  • Tap the contact name
  • Scroll down → Report Contact
  • Choose Impersonation / Scam
  • Block

The more reports WhatsApp gets, the faster it gets shut down.

3. Secure Your Own WhatsApp (Very Important)

🔐 Turn on Two-Step Verification - This prevents anyone from re-registering your number.

WhatsApp → Settings → Account → Two-step verification

  • Set a 6-digit PIN
  • Add a recovery email

⚠️ If this wasn’t enabled before, this is often how scammers get in.

4. Check Linked Devices

Make sure no one else is logged in as you.

WhatsApp → Settings → Linked Devices

  • Log out of all unknown devices
  • If unsure, log out of all and reconnect your own

5. Never Share Verification Codes

If anyone asked for a 6-digit code recently — that’s likely how this happened.

6. Official Report to WhatsApp

Email WhatsApp Support:

Subject: Someone impersonating me on WhatsApp
Hello,

Someone is impersonating me on WhatsApp and contacting people using my identity.
My phone number: +[your country code + number]

Impersonating number: +[scammer’s number if known]
This is causing confusion and potential fraud.

Please investigate and disable the impersonating account.
Thank you.

Extra Protection (Recommended)

  • Set Privacy → Profile Photo / About / Status → My Contacts
  • Enable Security notifications
  • Avoid posting your phone number publicly (websites, directories, Facebook groups)

If Money or Damage Has Occurred

If anyone sent money:

  • Contact your bank immediately
  • File a police report (helps with recovery and documentation)
